FAQ: Dungeon Caves

The main differences of these caves from the previous events:
1) You can recruit one stack no more than 4 times. After that, they will stop appearing to you;
2) The option to ignore certain captives is available, in which case they will not be found in a next search

In what format will the battles be?
In a 1 vs 1 PvE format, where players will assemble an army of creatures obtained in battles at the event. The Lord or Lady is on the field and gives the army stats and bonuses from artifacts and guilds, but his talents, factional skill and magic are absent in battle.

I.e. faction potion is not necessary to drink and you can safely play to get fsp for anti factions?
Exactly right.

What artifacts can be used for this event?
Only shop artifacts.

Do the creature artifacts work?
Yes.

How many attempts are there to find the right target?
Before a battle starts you can press to search for a stronger opponent or a weaker one. This can be done 10 times for each. After every two searches, you will get the option to press the “ignore creature” button, which will automatically start a new search without changing the difficulty.

How many times can I ignore a creature?
This option is only limited by the number of searches, as it is not available for one search after the player uses it (the button becomes inactive).

For how many searches does an "ignored" creature last?
After activating ignore, the creature will not appear for at least 1 (one) search.

Why do creatures of a certain level stop occurring?
After the 12 first victories you will not encounter creatures of tier 1. After 24 victories you will not encounter creatures of tier 1 or 2. And so on.

Why do I not encounter the same tier 1 creature even though I'm still below the 12 first fights?
This is stated above, you can recruit one stack no more than 4 times. After that, they will stop appearing to you. If this is not the case, you might have used the ignore option and this certain creature will not be available for at least 10 searches. Another option could be that you are just really unlucky.

How do I get silver?
Go to recruit/improve your army, remove the unit from your army, then select the faction tab it belongs to and click on the "Disband for Silver" button.

Is the silver only returned for the creatures themselves when selling them, or for improving them too?
Silver is refunded based on the creatures' improvements.

Why is the unit sale button inactive?
The player must have at least three other units (in addition to the sold one), otherwise there is no possibility to sell.

How do I get extra Elite Crossbowmen and Crusaders?
You can't. These are starter troops, it is advised to sell them on higher levels for silver.

What happens if I have already improved creatures and then encounter the lower tier again?
They will be two different units. You can upgrade them and they'll become one unit.

Do creatures die in battle?
No, they don't.

How do I know if a creature will be caged or uncaged?
If the job description says to "free" the creature, it will be in the cage in combat, if it states "protect" it will be out of the cage.

Does the cage need to be broken for creatures to join after combat?
No, this is not required.

What happens if the cage is broken by an opponent?
The creatures will join and fight against the player. But if the AI is defeated, they will eventually join the player anyway.

How do you get two creatures at once per battle?
The appearance of two creatures as a reward is random, so only by having luck.

What does the explanation about the cowardly Step Goblins in the news mean?
Only that they will not be among the available creatures that you will encounter. It's useless to try to encounter them.

What are some tips for getting through the event?
Из основного:

  • The most dangerous enemies are those that ignore defense, you have lizard cavalry and their upgrades that are dangerous for this reason. The enemies like Poisoners, Stalkers and Black scorpions are also dangerous due to the fact that they can poison enemies. Especially if they are in a big stack. Mages are dangerous because of their upgraded spell of ‘Magic Punch”. Creatures with strong chaos magic in large numbers (for example, Cyclops shamans) are also very dangerous. A good tip against these is to try and destroy these stacks as quickly as possible or deprive them of the opportunity to use their abilities.
  • Be sure to only upgrade creatures if it's not too expensive and gives a significant advantage ( for example upgrading goblins to hobgoblins, where survivability and damage increase significantly).
  • Note : The same creature can’t join your army more than 4 times.
  • You can use the option to ignore creatures to increase the number of searches allowed and to make it easier for you to knock out the necessary ones.
  • Sometimes it makes sense to knock out creatures that you don't intend on using, so that you can sell them later and spend silver to improve others.
  • Try not to sell creatures for no reason, as the more often you do so, the greater your total loss of silver and army power will be.
